Who can possibly forget the Over-the-Hill Gang that Punch Imlach assembled for the final season of Original Six hockey in 1966-67? In game six of the all-Canadian finals, the Leafs held a 2-1 lead with 55 seconds left to play when coach Imlach sent Allan Stanley, their 42-year old defenceman, to take the crucial faceoff in the Leaf end with Gump Worsley on the Montreal bench. Stanley won the draw from Jean Beliveau, and George Armstrong scored the empty-netter to ensure Stanley Cup victory.
